Character: Who do I want to become?

  • Just because we know what a bike is, what it’s used for and feel like we can ride it, doesn’t mean we actually can. And when we’re learning to ride, we often run into a concrete reminder of that fact. Our conviction that we can succeed is what drives us to identify our own areas of weakness and to do the work we need to do to actually improve.

  • Life has its own set of reminders that just because we want to do something, doesn’t mean we can. However, often times those reminders aren’t very concrete and so it’s easy to miss them. When we have the knowledge and the right perspective, Scripture serves as a mirror into our own souls to show us the areas where we need to change in order to better see the world as God sees it, to see others as God sees them, and see ourselves as God sees us!
